Golden Key Paino School’s January 2023 Newsletter

Dear students and parents at Golden Key Piano School,

We hope you had a great winter break! Our year starts off on a high note with videos from our annual duet recital at the end of last year.

1. Duet Recital

Congratulations to all students who participated in our Annual Duet Recital. It is amazing to see where our beginner students start and where our advanced students end up being after years of hard work, persistence and ups and downs. Keep up the good work you all!

The videos of our 2022 annual duet recital are in the process of being uploaded on YouTube here. Please watch, “like” and share and don’t forget to tag Golden Key Piano School when you share video on your social media.

Here are our two picks from what has been uploaded so far.

2. A Note From Our Artistic Director

Jaslene Lai came to me last month with a proposal to offer her love of music to younger children by tutoring them for free. She had a presentation prepared for me which was done professionally. To see her generous and loving gesture wanting to teach younger children whose families don’t have the financial ability to take lessons was awe inspiring. Jaslene is now offering free tutorial to our students to help with their assignment.

I would love to see her continue with her idea of offering her knowledge and passion of music to those with financial need as well and will do my part to support her on that.

Jaslene, I am proud of you not only because you are so talented, musical, hard working and intellectually curios, but also and specially because you are compassionate about others and are willing to do your part to make the lives of younger children better by sharing your love of music with them.

Students like you and Elaine (see the story of Elaine’s Scholarship Fund below in this newsletter) not only make me love my job but inspire me to do more.

3. Referral System

Many thanks for referrals!

We have been registering students who were referred to us by current or former students of Golden Key Piano School. Believe it or not, we have even had referrals from those who are just starting their own lessons at Golden Key Piano School. We are flattered and grateful for the confidence that our students and their families have in our ability to teach.

To return the favor, for each student that is referred, we will:

  • Add $50 to our scholarship fund to make our quality lessons available to a wider community.
  • Waive the $30 registration fee for your friend as a welcome gift to our school.
  • Send you a thank you gift.

4. Emergency Zoom Links

Please save your teacher’s zoom link for emergency situations if you need to meet on zoom for your lesson. We might not be able to provide it to you last minute because we simply do not check emails or messages every second.

The links can be found here.

5. Thank you to Elaine and her family

Our deepest gratitude to our Elaine Jutamulia and her parents for their very generous donation to our scholarship fund.

A graduate of Golden Key Piano School and a current student at MIT majoring in Computer Science and Brain/Cognitive Science and minoring in music, Elaine continues to be an inspiration for our students.
