Golden Key Paino School’s October 2023 Newsletter

Dear Golden Key Piano School Community,

Well into this year we are excited that you are settling in well. There are many changes during this school year but we love to see them. Here is our October newsletter.

1. 20th Anniversary PostPoned

Due to unavoidable circumstances, we had to postpone the celebration of our 20th year at Berkeley to a later date that will be announced in the coming days.

We greatly appreciate your continued support and dedication.

2. October Zoom Recital

We invite you to our informal Zoom performance day once more so you can practise your skills further in front of an audience and get feedback.

3. Annual Duet Recital

We would love to welcome you to our annual duet recital.

The annual duet recital is set up for 17th December 2023.

The rehearsal will happen on 10th December 2023 in the morning and 13th December in the evening. The exact times will be sent out soon. Be on the lookout for that registration link.

As we are all preparing for the duet recital, by now you should have a duet partner and a piece assigned for you by your teacher.

It is a good idea for the parents to have the duet partner’s contact info and stay in touch for practicing and later for rehearsal.

Practicing duet is motivating for those students who need some motivation. It is much more fun to have a piano peer and practice with than to do it alone.

Thank you in advanced for your time coordinating the practices and making it work.

4. US Chess Academy

We are in partnership with US Chess Academy to enhance our students after school activities beyond music lessons.

Are you looking for another extracurricular activity or after school program for you or your child/children?

Are you interested in learning or elevating your chess skills?

Insight Chamber Players is presenting our beloved Teacher Cooper and they are generously offering a few free tickets for current Golden Key piano school students.

Teacher Babak

Many thanks to Teacher Babak for the years he has dedicated to working with us.

We wish him luck and can only let him go with a heavy heart as he moves back to Iran.He has been a great part of our faculty and hope that he continues to thrive wherever he ends up.

We are delighted to have had him at Golden Key Piano School and hope to be able to continue working with him in future even if only through virtual lessons.

Teacher Stella

We would love to sincerely thank Teacher Stella for the time she has spent and worked with us.

While we are sad to see her go, we understand that she needs to move back to Korea and wish her nothing but the best in the next phase of her journey.

We will continue to see her on our list and work with her as she joins our expanding team of expert online teachers.
